As a part of International School Award Activities, we celebrated Herbal Day in our school. Mr.Karthikeyan, Agriculture Consultant, CBE, was the Chief Guest. The event was organized to create awareness among students that herbs and food are intricately linked as part of a balanced health regime; and for an understanding of the various types of herbs used as remedies for common illnesses. It was truly an exotic display of dishes prepared by parents using Indian herbs such as aloe vera juice, thuthuvalai kolukkattai, thulasi tea, mudakathan dosai, karisilanganni bajji, etc with a brief presentation of the herbs by their children. Everyone was surprised that “Herbal Food” could also be so delicious. Herb saplings were given to the parents as a token of our love and gratitude.
